The American Association of Pediatric Dentistry recommends that children see a dentist within six months after their first tooth erupts, or before the first birthday. This visit provides a great opportunity to ask your dentist whether your child’s oral health is the best it can be, and to learn a few tips and tricks to care for your child’s teeth and mouth.

We will get your child started on the path to a cavity-free lifetime.

It is important that your child has a positive experience during his/her first dental checkup. We want you and your child to feel comfortable at our office and enjoy your experience with us. As such, we treat all our young patients with patience, kindness, and compassion.

When you visit Gold River Pediatric Dentistry, you will find a warm, fun, and safe environment that will help your child relax and be open to learn about good oral health practices that will last a lifetime.

Depending on the results of your child’s initial dental exam, we will recommend follow-up visits for preventive care and/or treatment at six month intervals - or sooner. Our six-month recare appointments are necessary for professional dental cleaning to prevent the buildup of plaque (bacteria) and tartar that are responsible for gum disease and caries.

Dr. Pivnik will also examine your child’s mouth to identify any dental decay or problems of the gums and other oral tissues. These visits will help to not only ensure that your child has a healthy smile, but also build a strong relationship with our dental team for good follow up.

It is best to have a dental home you can turn to, so that, in the event of a dental problem or emergency, your child is already familiar and comfortable with the dentist who will deliver the treatment.

Our goal is to be your child’s “dental home” - the place where your child will receive all of his or her dental care, including preventive, maintenance, or when need be, urgent treatment. Book your appointment today for your child’s first dental check-up at Gold River Pediatric Dentistry.
